Digital Imaging Resource Center

Digital Imaging equipment at UFM University in Guatemala

30 years experience in traditional photography has resulted in expanding into digital imaging technology since 1996.

FLAAR is a leading international source of information on digital cameras, photographic studio equipment and scanners. Dr Nicholas Hellmuth's popular course on digital photography provides help, tips, and practical experience to photographers who want to study at home via the internet, but prefer a course of professional standards such as that from FLAAR.

We are especially interested in Mexico, Central America, or alliances with universities in Europe and China (since RIP software tends to be made in Europe and most wide format inkjet printers are now being manufactured in China).

FLAAR offers occasional intern, coop or volunteer positions for students in digital imaging and digital photography, in Guatemala. We accept students who speak German and naturally English or Spanish.

This digital imaging research center in Guatemala makes it possible for archaeologists, students, and photographers to learn about advances in digital printing (as well as scanning, large format digital photography, etc.).
