| Last year FLAAR expanded from its office in Germany and in Guatemala to begin a facility at Bowling Green State University. This new program devoted to large format digital imaging is part of the Center for Applied Technology, Joe Catalano, Director. The original inkjet printer evaluation facility at Francisco Marroquin University continues and currently has 12 employees. The move to BGSU in Ohio was initiated by a professor at this university, Charles Spontelli, who felt it would be an asset to their program in the College of Technology. |

National Institute for the Study of Digital Media
The facility at Bowling Green State University has started with five employees and will increase in size before the end of the year. The snapshots here show the pertinent people in the College of Technology (Catalano and Spontelli) as well as the initial employees of FLAAR at BGSU. Chuck Spontelli has a MS degree from the prestigious Rochester Institute of Technology. His specialty is color management as well as other aspects of printing technology. Milos Krsmanovic has been hired to do a project this summer (2002) on hardware RIP and software RIPs for wide format inkjet printers. FLAAR will eventually be providing courses and training in RIPs. For the autumn Krsmanovic will initiate a program on evaluation of prepress scanners in the FLAAR facility including drum scanners and 5000 dpi tabloid sized flatbed scanners. So if your company needs training, now you know where to consider. Joe Catalano has an MBA degree from the University of Chicago as well as having completed an advanced management course at Harvard's Business School.
Nicholas Hellmuth graduated from Harvard, has three honorary research appointments at Yale University, and received his PhD from a European university. The combined capabilities of the College of Technology at BGSU and FLAAR insure that we can provide a high level of assistance to companies and individuals who seek help, tips, and consulting services as they face the problems of trying to figure out which printer, inkjet media, inks, laminator, hardware or software to select. If you wish to hire Professor Hellmuth as a consultant to come to your company, and/or his staff, or other faculty from BGSU, please send a fax to this effect to FLAAR at BGSU (419) 372-8283. This fax number is only for opening up a professional consulting appointment either with Dr Hellmuth coming to your company or you coming to FLAAR at BGSU. This fax number as contact is exclusively if your company wishes to ask about a professional consulting relationship. This fax number is: not to circumvent the Inquiry-Survey Form, not to ask miscellaneous questions, not to get other information FLAAR serves as consultant for Fortune 500 companies as well as companies who wish to reach that level. Because about 100,000 people every month read the FLAAR reviews in 42 countries in three languages on our dozen web sites it is not possible to respond to fax inquiries unless to establish a professional relationship on a fee basis. If you are an individual, a small business, as well as a large company, we reply to the Inquiry-Survey Form usually within 48 hours, so by e-mail via the form on the web site is the way you should reach us. There is no cost for the e-mail service; there is no cost for the FLAAR reports at present.
Please understand that due to the size of the readership it is not realistic to handle inquiries by telephone unless we have a working relationship with your company initiated by your fax followed by a day of initial consulting at your place or at either of the two universities where FLAAR maintains an office. If you wish to have telephone and/or direct contact with the FLAAR and BGSU staff, please consider signing up for one of the training courses. That way you get the direct telephone number, direct e-mail straight to Nicholas, and can come visit the FLAAR facilities as well. We accept inquiries in Spanish, Deutsch, and naturally in English. If you would like to take advantage of the capabilities and experience of FLAAR at BGSU consider hiring them as professional consultants | ||||||||||
