In general the two printers exhibited by Design, even though they may still have been in beta stage, did not look as primitive as the combo style UV printer by Creation.

Design has not yet exhibited in the US, and I have not recognized any printers from their company in Eastern Europe either (but it’s almost impossible to keep track since companies are always rebranding things).

The second UV printer exhibited by Design was their hybrid style flatbed, the Design DU250-BZ.

The Design DFU130-BZ240 flatbed UV printer is a bit like the Inca Spyder 150, and comparable to the CALCA 1204 and a host of similar medium-sized dedicated flatbeds. These are usually too small to be effective for a serious sign shop.

The more efficient size is minimum is 4x8 feet for the US. So the 64” x 10’ size of the new Gerber Solara ion flatbed UV printer is good.

Once you have a flatbed UV printer then you will need a flatbed cutter too

If you need to produce cut-outs, or even to trim your finished prints on flat rigid material, it helps to have a flatbed contour cutter.
