Two FLAAR Reports now available on Gandinnovations JETi 3150 UV-cured ink flatbed Print E-mail

The Gandinnovations JETi 3150 UV was one of the industrial-strength UV printers that we inspected between May and October 2005. We are in the process of updating our large format web site on all the UV-curable flatbed inkjet printers we have studied at DRUPA, Photokina, SGIA, GraphExpo, and other trade shows in Germany, Italy, etc.

FLAAR now has nine comprehensive series on UV-curable ink flatbed printers. You can order one, two, or all three series (you get larger discounts the more you order). We cover the Gandinnovations JETi 3150 UV in the series on high-end dedicated flatbed printers.

The Gandinnovations Jeti 3150 UV had lots of potential in the past and in those past years was a strong competitor to the VUTEk PressVu 200/600, VUTEk QS2000/QS3200, NUR Tempo Q, Oce Arizona 250 GT, and any UV-curable printer in this price range. But now that Gandinnovations was disbanded, there has not been much new. As a result other brands have taken over the flatbed market shares.

Some UV printers are like concept-cars: visions of future potential. Other UV-cured ink printers are beta test versions, to find out how they survive in the real world.

Other UV printers are mature, work great, and are shipping now.

A few UV-curable ink flatbeds are shipping now, but don’t function as well as they ought to

And some UV-printers are being happily sold to eager buyers, but these printers don’t really exist. In one case the printers physically don’t exist. In another case the printer exists at trade shows but has not been ready to ship for nine months.

Since the actual facts of what is really going on is not always available, we do as much as possible to obtain information.

Become a savvy buyer. Learn the facts from behind the scenes on what is really going on with some of the wide format UV-cured flatbed inkjet printers.

Gandinnovations began as a solid company. The print shop that does signs for our university bought one of their solvent ink printers several years ago, so we have first-hand facts on what it is like to receive a Gandinnovations printer into your building (we photographed the entire delivery and installation four years ago).

Gandinnovations JETi 3150 UV printer reviews
Gandinnovations is selling one UV Jeti every week, which is as fast as they can currently manufacture them. The Gandy printer has fared well in two FLAAR Reports: our evaluation and a site-visit case study. The owner was very content both with the printer, with tech support, and with the Gandy company.

A few UV-curable ink flatbeds were shipping, but don’t function as well as they ought to. The DuPont Cromaprint 22uv was a good example; they tried for two years to convince a Chinese manufacturer to change their low-bid habits, but it did not work; the printers had enough issues that tech support costs were too expensive, and DuPont withdrew totally from the UV-curable market. Anyone who bought a Cromaprint 22uv printer, who neglected to read a FLAAR Report in advance, received precisely what the FLAAR Report warned people about.

UV curable ink flatbed printers are still going through rapid improvements, both in speed and quality. You will see some pleasant surprises in 2008. Acquire the FLAAR Reports so you can recognize which UV-cured ink flatbed printer is right for your needs.

In past years we had additional updates on the Gandinnovations 4x8' and 2x3 meter flatbeds. But no updates are available since Agfa took over, in part because our entire staff is flown all over the world to study other brands and other models. There are 45 brands of UV printers at present, and a new brand every year.
