Wasatch SoftRIP for large format inkjet printers

Wasatch RIP is well represented at all the trade shows, actually more so than many other wide format RIPs.
The people at the booth have always been helpful and provided instruction and answered all our questions when students of our university have sought information about wide format inkjet printer RIPs.

FLAAR currently has Wasatch SoftRIP, but also we have PosterJet (for almost two years), Onyx PosterShop RIP, ColorGate RIP, BESTColor RIP, Korea Artist RIP, and a new proofing RIP, ProofMaster from PerfectProof.
Actually we have about nine RIP software packages. So the question is, even though we have all the above RIPs, which RIP do we actually use? and why?
Wasatch SoftRIP is the preferred software at our university. Why? Because it runs our Iris 3047 giclee printer as well as virtually all the other printers such as HP DesignJet 5000 and Mimaki JV4.
Wasatch RIP runs Hewlett-Packard, ColorSpan, Epson, Mimaki, Mutoh I-Jet, and most other wide format printers in addition to Iris.
SInce we work with Monaco Profiler (ICC profiles color management software) and X-Rite DTP41 UV color tool, we need a RIP solution which accepts and coordinates all aspects of color management. Wasatch SoftRIP is ICC-savvy.

Most of our updates for summer 2007 onward are in FLAAR Reports in Adobe Acrobat PDF format. It is more efficient for us to make new information available in PDF format. So if the web page itself is not updated, check out www.wide-format-printers.NET to see if the printer, RIP, or other subject is covered in an update in a PDF download.
