Dye sublimation heat transfer systems

So many requests for information on dye sublimation heat transfer systems come to us that we have added this page. The Hewlett-Packard DesignJet 2000, 2500, 2800 (all 36" wide) and the 54" wide models 3000, 3500, and 3800 can all print directly on textiles. HP's large format printers are described on http://www.designjet.hp.com It took us about 10 minutes to find the page for HP complimentary media program.

Actually not even that had what we needed, so we kept following the links and eventually arrived at the meaty page with what we had started looking for ten minutes previously. It had the same file name but this time the data was activated by a search so it presented all the different textiles. One of these is 3p International.

A new dye sublimation heat transfer system is pictured above, a special form of a printer (not Hewlett-Packard) adapted to give high quality output for heat transfer onto textiles, ceramic, even solid aluminum. The quality is controlled by the RIP, that carefully controls the colors so that after the heat transfer the colors come out perfect.

If you seriously intend to do dye sublimation with wide format printers be sure to read the pertinent articles in the trade magazines (trade magazines are listed in www.digital-photography.org and/or in www.wide-format-printers.org; (look for the index-directory).

No, sorry, we do not carry the titles, authors, or month/year of the issues. Those magazines plus the two companies above will at least get you started. Dye sublimation on ceramics and other surfaces is a great field, but it is not for the weak of heart or the timid.
