Snap - Quantum - Raid Print E-mail

Snap is an effective manner to easily install a RAID system, RAID array levels 0, 1, or 5. Snap model 4000 provides 120 GB or on-line hard drive RAID storage (85 GB with RAID level 5). So if you are doing a lot of large format printing, or large digital files of any nature, here is a quick and efficient way to store everything. You don't need to add any RAID card (no more Adaptec cards to fiddle with; no more complex software to install). The Snap system is made to snap into your system via your network.

Then Quantum bought the company and today the product offers more flexibility yet still with all the original ease of installation. At the recent CeBIT computer trade show in Hannover, Germany, the Quantum people gave out stop watches to everyone who stopped by to see how easy it is to install yourself. Yes, that's right, you don't need a technician at $50 an hour and a PhD in network administration. Several versions were shown at CeBIT; the original Snap (with one hard drive inside), a larger model (I would guess with perhaps two drives inside), and the top-of-the-line Snap! 4000, with four drives inside.

Since Quantum makes their own drives you can count on their reliability. Also, the price is reasonable since Snap does not have to buy the drives from an outside source, but gets them directly from Quantum., Quantum Snap Division, 2001 Logic Drive, San Jose CA 95124, Tel (888) 343-SNAP.
