Now wide format inkjet printers can produce display graphics, POP signage, banners, and much more.

What used to be exclusively a screen-printing trade magazine is now " Screen Printing, Display Graphics and Imaging." This suggests that screen printers realize the future impact of digital imaging.

The "Screenprinting & Graphics Imaging Association" tradeshow was equally telling. It was filled with regular inkjet printers such as ColorSpan as well as UV curable ink flatbed industrial inkjet printers.

One of the top screen printer companies in the United States recently hired FLAAR as a consultant to help them begin to transition into digital imaging in general and wide format inkjets in particular. Their capable managers and excellent in-house technical support managers helped ensure a smooth transition.

FLAAR offers a valuable wealth of information for screen printers who need tips and help surviving the transition to wide format inkjet printers

Screen printers who are accustomed to spot colors face a challenge with the process colors of inkjet's CMYK. But screen printers may no t be aware of RIP software. The software can match spot colors with process colors. There are also inkjet printers which can hold up to 12 different colors. There are two of them in the FLAAR print facility; they print 72" wide, are relatively fast, and offer apparent resolution of 1800 dpi.

FLAA R has several programs to assist screen printers. Details are available under the link to consultants. Screen printing owners, managers, and technical staff should invest in the pertinent FLAAR Series. The most essential ones are the Series on Signs, the Series on RIPs, and the Series on Survival, after all, your survival in the world of digital imaging in general and the onslaught of competition from inkjet printers is what this is all about.

Another market segment currently seeking help are photo labs who have CymbolicSciences LightJet or Durst Lambda digital photo imagers. The most frequent questions they ask is in regards to what inkjet technology should they be learning about to survive in the marketplace.

Which regular inkjet printers can be outfitted to handle thick, rigid, and flat material for under $30,000? Two are available for under $20,000 and one is $15,000. Both can print on cardboard, poste r board, art board, foam core, and can print with pigmented inks.

FLAAR provides discussion, analysis, and the pros and cons about the truth of hype and advertising claims surrounding UV curable ink flatbed printers, which are the printers of most interest to those in creative fields.

FLAAR offers several Free First Level Reports and more than 40 additional Premium Reports may be ordered. Consulting services are also available.
