Mutoh Rockhopper 3 Extreme with Intelligent Interweaving technology
The Mutoh Spitfire Extreme and the Mutoh Rockhopper 3 Extreme are the same physical chassis; what differs are the inks: the Spitfire Extreme uses mild-solvent inks; the Rockhopper 3 Extreme uses eco-solvent Ultra inks.
For 2007 we are adding a variety of reports on eco-solvent, mild-solvent, and full-solvent wide format inkjet printers. As part of this research we spent one entire week at the Mutoh Europe headquarters during March 2007. As soon as our reports are available they will be published here.
Mutoh has been making wide-format inkjet printers for many years. They make models from entry-level to grand format sizes. Here are two views of an entry-level printer. Below is a state-of-the-art brand new eco-solvent printer.

Hewlett-Packard has now introduced their latex ink technology in a newHP Designjet L65500printer. Most of our updates for 2008 onward are in FLAAR Reports in Adobe Acrobat PDF format. It is more efficient for us to make new information available in PDF format. So if the web page itself is not updated, check out www.wide-format-printers.NET to see if the printer, RIP, or other subject is covered in an update in a PDF download.
