One of the consulting topics that comes to us frequently is “what are the chances my new product will succeed in the marketplace.” Here it is crucial to know what else is being developed. Plus you need to know, and understand, the trends.

FLAAR specializes precisely in significant reports on wide-format inkjet trends worldwide.

We discuss technology, chemistry, marketing, partnering, what to avoid, with whom should you partner (and whom you might consider avoiding), OEM potential, distributorships, and other topics you may need assistance with.

Dr Hellmuth is equally at home in Dubai, Shanghai, Istanbul, Frankfurt, North America or Latin America.

Nicholas has lived in Japan, in Switzerland (3 years), in Austria (8 years) and in Germany (9 years) as well as lived and worked in Latin America most of his life. For the last four years he has spent considerable time as consultant in Asia: Korea, Taiwan, and mainland China especially.

Alone in 2009 more than a million people read the FLAAR web pages. This means that since the FLAAR Reports started many years ago, that many millions of printshop owners, managers, printer operators, distributors, and manufacturers have read FLAAR.

There are many capable consultants, with excellent experience. But no other consultant has the international reach, nor frankly the clout, as does FLAAR.

We do not accept a consulting assignment if we do not feel it is within our area of focus and expertise. Business is good, and growing, so we don’t need to accept every consulting request. We prefer to undertake consulting assignments for projects that are interesting, exciting, and show significant promise.

More and more corporations are asking FLAAR for tips on how to improve their web sites and how to improve their trade show booth. So we now provide services on these aspects too. But you are never required to ask for a service your company does not wish to have.

Most companies seek help in marketing, in learning how FLAAR thinks their product might succeed (or not succeed, so they can save tons of money by pulling the product before it fizzles).

The requests we get the most frequently is assistance in networking: using FLAAR contacts to find partners and distributors (and obviously to find end-users too).

Yes, we consult on a lot more subjects than just inks, substrates, and media. FLAAR handles printers, coaters, flatbed cutters and CNC routers, scanners, textiles, glass printing, ceramic tiles, stone, wood, décor, giclee, signage, and all aspects of the digital imaging workflow.

We also have been asked for assistance for totally unique products.

The PDF on consulting shows all the subjects that we tackle. The self-downloading PDF is for end-users; the PDF for manufacturers you get by contacting us directly.

The following contact information is only for obtaining an appointment for consulting. This contact info is not for general questions.

We prefer to have requests for consulting sent by e-mail, rather than by telephone. Naturally we can sign an NDA but equally obviously don’t want to waste your time or ours if your needs are not what we wish to handle. So your initial e-mail needs to explain what assistance you wish, your approximate time frame, whether you need Dr Hellmuth in-person, and whether you prefer at your headquarters or at a trade show somewhere in the world.

Our office phone is 1 419 823-9218, which is a VoIP Vonage phone. If you need a clearer line, call 001 502 2365-6406. This is a land-line and is not in the US.

e-mail is FrontDesk@FLAAR.org: but only for requests for professional consulting. This is NOT an e-mail to use to ask incidental questions.

If you want to know what printer, ink, or media to buy for your sign shop, these contacts are not for that purpose whatsoever, unless you wish professional consulting. In this case Dr Nicholas Hellmuth will discuss with you by Skype, telephone, e-mail, or in-person which printer, ink, substrates are best for your specific applications.

Naturally the main advantage of asking for consultation from FLAAR is that we are aware, far in advance, of what new is about to be shown at the next FESPA, the next ISA or SGIA, or the next VISCOM.

If you have not yet experienced a consulting session with FLAAR, you may be missing opportunities.

We are adding new pages and new features every month so it is not always realistic to update old pages from past years. All the old equipment is still available on eBay, so we keep even our old pages. If you wish only the more up to date product reviews, these are in PDFs (not in the web pages, but in PDFs which are linked in the columns at the right of every page).

Please realize that we tend to update a page (or a PDF) primarily when it is clear that our readers ask about this brand or model frequently. With over 45 brands of UV printers and over 200 models in the past ten years, it is not realistic to update pages on obsolete brands or unpopular models. If you prefer to speak with Nicholas Hellmuth in person about a printer, you can bring him to your company anywhere in the world as consultant.

By later in 2012 more of our web sites will be in 36 different languages with instant translation (and better than old fashioned web page translators of several years ago). So far all the languages are available on www.FLAAR.org and www.3d-scanners-3d-software-reviews.org. Next will be our www.large-format-printers.org.
